About the Series
The Metabolism Research Forum series of the Sarah W. Stedman Nutrition and Metabolism Center was instituted by Dr. Newgard in 2002. This forum brings together investigators from Duke and surrounding institutions with interests in nutrition and metabolic research for a lively and informative weekly research conference.
As can be seen from the schedule, lectures are given by local faculty and fellows as well as distinguished invited guests from outside the area. The Metabolism Research Forum has developed into an outstanding conduit for interaction, collaboration, and planning for grant applications for participating members.
The meetings are held on most Tuesday evenings at 5:00 during the spring and fall semesters, and all meetings take place in the main auditorium of the Sarah Stedman Nutrition and Metabolism Building on the Center for Living campus at Duke. Light refreshments are provided, and the lectures are open to the public.
Please check the online schedule for updates, or call Mayre Loomis (919-479-2300) to get on our e-mailing list for weekly seminar announcements.
